This innovative children's environmental education web site is an ongoing project
and educational content and environmental/conservation facts will be added to it on
a continuing basis.
The current programs of DITC Environmental Education Foundation, Inc. are
Endangered Species Awareness and School Zone.
The first step of researching and writing fifty subjects on threatened or endangered
species within a 150-mile radius of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s National Conservation
Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is complete. We will continue to add
endangered species from all over the United States as well as world-wide.
All of these subjects are available for viewing. We now invite the participation of
students in a creative program set around the 50 species on the list, and we are in the
process of identifying schools who would like to show case their school and students by
getting the children’s work published on the web!
In 2012 we launched our School Zone. This fun and educational program invites
children from schools around the world to research and write a subject of their own
choice, having familiarized themselves with the format and content of the subjects on
the website and we will publish their work on the website. Luc from New Jersey was our
trail blazer and did a wonderful piece on the Cuttlefish.
